J K Rowling shimmers in sequins at Fantastic Beasts premiere

For avid Harry Potter fans, the wait is finally over as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premiered in London yesterday.

And when it came to carpet fashion, the show wasn’t too shabby either – and all eyes were on the Harry Potter author herself.

J K Rowling was nothing short of glamorous as she attended the event in a white sequinned floor length gown.

She matched the dress with silver drop earrings, a navy clutch and bright red nails.

Not only did the plunging neckline and detailed decoration make the dress suitably magical, but matched with a casual up do and subtle, shimmering makeup, classy as hell.

Though Rowling obviously stole the show, there were quite a few striking looks spotted in the evening.

Eddie Redmayne – who stars as magizoologist Newt Scamander in the film – sported a white-spotted blue suit while his wife Hannah Bagshawe wore a white-and-purple floor-length floral gown.

Rowling, Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Katherin Waterstone, Carmen Ejogo and Alison Sudol also gathered together for one striking group shot.

Despite the typical rainy British weather, attendees – especially Rowling and Redmayne – seemed in high spirits among the screaming fans at Leicester Square.
