Ivanka Trump's perfume is now the number one fragrance on Amazon
After the #GrabYourWallet campaign encouraged people to boycott Ivanka’s Trump’s products, it seemed it could have spelt the end for Ivanka’s business plans.
But this couldn’t be further from the case – when it comes to her perfume, anyway, as her namesake Eau de Parfum Spray has hit first place in Amazon’s Best Sellers list for women’s fragrances.
The scent, which costs $59 (£47) on Amazon.com, is at the very top while the roll-on size at $15 (£12) is at second.
While it could be that everyone absolutely loves its smell, a likely answer is also that buyers are expressing their support for the US President’s daughter through their purchasing.
Over at Cosmopolitan, they pointed out that this is pretty clear from some of the product’s customer reviews:
“Bought this to support Ivanka after the vicious attacks on her business,” reads one.
“I *never* buy perfume without trying a sample first but did so this time.”
And another wrote:
“I was recently thinking about how I could contribute to the Ivanka Trump line after the despicable and deplorable left attacked her brand,” they said.
“I read about her perfume and immediately purchased it. My five star rating reflects how I feel to be able to support such a classy, elegant woman. Kudos to Ivanka!”
And while some clearly bought it for its scent and loved it, others haven’t been so complimentary.
“Received as gift. Old lady scent,” one said.
“Not something I would ever wear!!”
