Instagram model bitten by shark in pursuit of the perfect photo

For many social media influencers, the pursuit of getting the perfect shot can take you to death-defying places.

From posing pensively on a cliff edge to taking selfies with dangerous animals and pulling stunts stupidly close to low-flying jet, there’s seemingly nothing some bloggers won’t do for the the ‘gram.

But for one influencer, her search for a like-worthy photo went a little too far when she decided to pose amidst a school of nurse sharks.

You see where we’re going here…

Instagram star Katarina Elle Zarutskie, who boasts over 44,000 followers, was floating in the clear waters of Staniel Cay in the Bahamas among dozens of sharks when one of them decided they fancied a nibble.

The blogger told Buzzfeed News that she was briefly pulled under when a five-foot shark bit her arm.

“I leaned back, and then that shark he came and he bit down on my arm and pulled me under,” she said.

She then swam to the nearest exit for fear of her blood attracting other sharks.

Luckily, Zarutskie was fine, but had to get her arm dressed before flying to Florida for further treatment.

The owner of the marina said that while nurse sharks are mostly docile, they can bite when they mistake limbs for food.
