Couple blasted for 'stupid' stunt on beach where woman died
An acrobatic couple has been criticised for a stunt they performed dangerously close to an approaching plane at a beach notorious for low-flying aircraft.
Oleg Kolisnichenko, 36, and Yuliia Nos, 25, from Ukraine, photographed themselves seemingly just metres from an approaching aircraft at Maho Beach, on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin.
Their daring image shows Mr Kolisnichenko standing on the sand with Ms Nos acrobatically perched on his head using just one arm for support – all while an oncoming plane passes by en route to Princess Juliana International Airport.

Yet the pair’s impressive image has been met with a wave of criticism on social media after a New Zealand woman died when she fell from the blast of a departing plane at the same beach a year ago.
Her death prompted local authorities to warn beachgoers to avoid standing in the paths of oncoming planes, yet their request has so far appeared to have fallen on deaf ears.
“This is the reason that we can’t have nice spots for spotting, people don’t know how to deal with freedom and start to do dummy things,” one Instagram user wrote.
“Extremely stupid. when the plane hits her foot she will actually never walk again,” another said.
“Stupidity at its finest,” another bluntly said.
However some argued the image was deceptive and the plane was a considerable distance above the couple.
“Before spitting out hatred, [commenters] should learn how perspective works,” one user wrote.
