A never-before-seen new change to Strictly Come Dancing has been announced - and it’s set to shake up the live shows. The hit BBC show will now feature a new special themed week, introduced in celebration of 20 years of the iconic show. The brand new week will be called Icons Week, and will debut for the first time ever on Saturday 2nd November - and continue for future series to come.

In a first for Strictly, Icons Week will see the contestants and professional dancers celebrate and emulate their favourite music heroes, paying tribute to some of the most legendary acts from the music industry, spanning decades of stars.

Then, during that week’s live results show, on Sunday 3rd November, the show’s professional dancers will take to the floor for a special Beyoncé-themed performance that promises to be one of the most memorable moments of the series.

Leading the charge will be fan-favourite professional dancer Johannes Radebe, who is set to channel his inner Sasha Fierce as he takes on the role of Beyoncé. The routine is expected to be packed with sparkling costumes, jaw-dropping moves, and plenty of attitude - perfect for honouring Queen Bey.

The BBC has teased that the professional routine will feature everything from bejewelled cowboy hats to power ballad moves, so we’re expecting a seriously show-stopping spectacle.

While Johannes will lead the professionals’ Beyoncé tribute, the rest of the music legends that will make up the week’s icons, dances and songs are still yet to be announced. The new Icons Week will join the existing special weeks of the series, Musicals, Blackpool and Movies.

The announcement of the brand new themed week came on Strictly - It Takes Two on BBC Two today.

It won’t be the first special week of the series, of course, as last week saw the return of the popular Movie Week . This year’s much-anticipated special saw the contestants perform dances inspired by films including Wayne’s World, Harry Potter, Barbie and George of the Jungle, while the week also saw the professional dancers go bananas in an epic Minions-themed group performance.

Meanwhile, this year’s Strictly stars have been grabbing attention away from the Ballroom floor, too, as Pete Wicks and his dance partner Jowita Przystal were allegedly seen looking cosy together at a backstage drinks party following Saturday's live show, where they could reportedly be seen chatting to one another and gazing into each other’s eyes following their performance - where Pete even still sported his George of the Jungle costume from their movie week dance.
