'Ultimate beach-lover's house' with its own stretch of sand goes on sale in UK for £5.5million
If you’re missing your beach holidays this year, it might interest you to know you can now buy a house with its own stretch of sand in the UK – but it’ll set you back £5.5million.
The luxury villa-style home, painted a pretty pastel shade of pink, is located on the picturesque Devon coast.
While those living in city locations are often grateful for a postage stamp equivalent of outside space, wannabe house buyers could snap up heaps of space in this coastal property.
Well, if you’ve got millions lying in your current account, that is.

Social distancing won’t be required for the new owners of the pink house, which also has its own boathouse with a slipway and two private moorings.
The house, known as Waterside, is in East Portlemouth – just a stone’s throw from popular Salcombe, which is dubbed Chelsea-on-Sea.
Situated right on the totally Instagrammable estuary, it is being pitched to beach lovers and boating enthusiasts alike, or those who just fancy dropping it into conversation that they have their own beach.

“This is genuinely the ultimate boat-lover’s house in Devon,” a spokesman for estate agents, Luscombe Maye, explains.
“Everyone who gets out on the water in the gorgeous Salcombe Estuary will recognise this pink house, right on the water’s edge and with its own beach.
“This area is a magnet for boating enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes, from motorboats to racing dinghies to luxury yachts.”

The spokesperson added: “Dream the dream: you could slip your mooring in your Salcombe yawl and go racing, or jump in the RIB with the kids and explore dramatic Bolt Head or up the enchanting creek to South Pool.”
And if you fancy popping over to Salcombe for a meal or to splash the cash in the many boutiques, according to the property particulars the passenger ferry is just 200 yards away, although surely if you can afford your own beach you can afford to be whizzed over in your own boat.

If having your own beach isn’t enough of a draw, the house itself is also pretty fancy, housing an impressive kitchen, dining room, two reception rooms, hall and utility room on the ground floor and four bedrooms, one with en-suite, a family bathroom and additional WC upstairs.
Outside there’s a separate garage, the boathouse and even a one-bedroom annex for beach companions to stay in.
If anyone needs us, we’ll be working out how many more articles we have to write to be able to put in an offer.
