Holly Willoughby has kicked off the countdown to Christmas by snaring a snapshot of the family’s Elf On The Shelf.
The This Morning presenter shared a close-up photo of her tastefully decorated Christmas tree, complete with clusters of red berries, hand-stitched felt decorations and white ceramic baubles.
But the star of the show was undoubtedly the family’s Elf on a Shelf, who could be seen clutching a box reading: “I [heart] my family”.
Elf On The Shelf is an increasingly popular Christmas phenomenon where a festive elf appears in your house on 1 December.
The Elf reports back to Father Christmas every night to say whether the children in the house have been naughty or nice.
And after his nightly visit to the North Pole, he returns to a new position in the family home every day.

Willoughby is one of the many parents participating in the tradition and there was no doubt great excitement in the household on the morning of Tuesday 1 December when the presenter’s children spotted the Elf’s arrival.
Willoughby is mum to three children with her husband of 13 years, Dan Baldwin: Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and six-year-old Chester.

Following her Elf reveal on Instagram, many of Willoughby’s fans shared their own experiences with Elf On The Shelf and how the festive tradition might be somewhat different this year due to coronavirus pandemic.
“Ours arrived wearing a face mask and a little bottle of sanitiser,” one fan joked.
“Hope he was ‘elf isolating’?” another quipped.
While another person said their Elf had forgotten to come in time to kick off the festivities: “We think it’s a hold up due to the pandemic... the boys have high hopes for tomorrow morning!”

Willoughby also hinted the Elfs arrival had inspired her look for This Morning.
Sharing an image to Instagram of her dressed in a collared red jumper with white piping by Rixo, teamed with tailored black trousers from Sezane, the presenter credited the Elf for her sartorial choice.
“Morning Tuesday,” she wrote. “Feeling inspired by #elfontheshelf fashion today... #jollyhollychristmas”.

Willoughby’s festive post comes after Christmas arrived at the This Morning studios yesterday.
Heading to Instagram, the presenter shared an image of her looking Christmas-ready in a glittering emerald green dress and green stilettos as she promised her fans they could expect plenty of sparkles over the next month.
“The Christmas elves have been busy with our incredible art department,” she wrote.
“They even left out a Christmas outfit for me from now until our last show... this is your warning for unapologetically festive frocks and yes sequins were harmed in the process...”
Last month, Willoughby revealed she had joined a number of celebrities in putting up their Christmas decorations early this year.
Sharing an image of her festive front door, which had been given a magical makeover, the TV presenter explained she’d enlisted the help of luxury floral designers Early Hours London to surround her doorway with stunning seasonal foliage.
The snapshot featured the presenter looking up at the impressive snowy display with glistening white baubles, frosted pine cones and snow covered berries.
As well as her This Morning outfits, Willoughby has also been providing fans with some other festive fashion inspo.
Her latest drop with M&S has seen her slip into a sparkling Sequin Midi Straight Skirt, which she paired with a cream jumper and pointed toe black court heels for the perfect at home Christmas day look.
