Here's what the Duchess of Cambridge wore on the hospital steps after both her previous births
With the news that the Duchess of Cambridge has gone into labour, the most excited among us are eagerly waiting for photos of the new parents’ outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s hospital where Kate is giving birth.
This is where we’ll get a first glimpse of royal baby number three for the first time.
The hospital steps photo has become rather iconic, with many of us admiring The Duchess‘s post-birth outfits (and her superhuman ability to look amazing just hours after giving birth) just as much as the royal baby.
Shortly after giving birth to her first child, Prince George, in June 2013, the royal looked glowing in a powder blue, polka dot Jenny Packham dress (above).
People made comparisons between that and the polka dot turquoise dress Princess Diana wore when she left hospital with Prince William in 1982.
For the couple’s first appearance with Princess Charlotte in May 2015, Kate opted for yet another custom Jenny Packham shift dress – this time with a yellow daffodil print.
It’s not yet known if the Duchess will return to her non-official maternity designer for her first appearance will royal baby number three, but we’ll be waiting eagerly to see.
Kensington Palace tweeted that the Duchess had been admitted to St. Mary’s hospital in the early hours of this morning.
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labour.
The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.
