Harry Styles' corsage was the star of the Brit Awards red carpet
It’s not unusual for Harry Styles to wear something outlandish. Sure, on his off days it’s back to caps and gym shorts, but if his red carpet and award ceremony attendances are anything to go by, his style mantra is the more the merrier.
Which is why we expected big things from his Brit Awards red carpet outfit. The 29-year-old singer songwriter, and now Grammy Award winner, was up for album of the year (for Harry's House), song of the year (for As It Was), artist of the year and best pop/R&B act for the 2023, so we were anticipating big things for his red carpet appearance.
However, Styles arrived somewhat uncharacteristically in an all-black ensemble. Of course it was a 1970s-inspired Nina Ricci suit with flared trousers and a tuxedo-style jacket – we would expect nothing less – but it wasn’t the usual array of rainbow colours we’ve come to expect from the star.

But he made up for it in other ways. The former One Direction star and his long-time stylist Harry Lambert have always had a knack for elevated a somewhat simple outfit with an unusual twist – see: Harry Styles at the 2021 Grammy Awards, where a colourful feather boa in both purple, and later green, was his accessory of choice.
For the 2023 Brit Awards it was an accessory that immediately threw us back to school proms that made his red carpet outfit stand out this year: a larger-than-life black floral corsage, worn around his neck.

Styles has never been afraid to break gender style norms, often stepping out in items considered typically female, and experimenting with his own beauty line, Pleased, so it comes as no surprise that a simple two-piece suit just wouldn’t cut it.
The Grammy-award winning artist wore his several signature pieces of jewellery to finish the look, including a myriad rings and a golden cross necklace against his (bare) chest.
Styles later slipped into a navy suit and silk teal shirt to accept his award for artist of the year and best pop/RnB act and followed his sparkling series from the Grammy Awards with a cropped red sequined jacket for a performance of his hit single As It Was at the awards ceremony, making it three for three on his hit outfits from the 2023 Brit Awards.
