Popular children’s game Fortnite, ‘It’ character Pennywise and Disney’s Descendants are among the most-searched Halloween costumes of 2019, data has revealed.
Google’s Fright Geist study has collated the costumes most people are searching for this year, helping you decide what to dress up as this year - or what to avoid.
Compiling data from Americans who use the popular search tool, the stats show that popular horror film franchise It has scored the number one spot, so expect to see numerous Pennywise costumes out and about.

In fact, the study shows that horror films make up 9% of all costume searches.
If clowns are your worst nightmare, you may want to venture out with caution as the tradition version of the costume has also made sixth position.
A witch is the second most popular costume, with numerous other classics also making it into the top 30, including a ghost, pirate, devil, vampire and zombie.

There are also a few surprises: a dinosaur is in at number four, unicorn at number 10 and rabbit, princess, doll and mermaid can also be found in the top 50 searches.
