Yoga, meditation and the keto diet: How Halle Berry, 52, stays youthful
Another day, another dollop of fitness inspiration from a celebrity.
Just yesterday we got some #MondayMotivation from none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, and now we’re looking to Halle Berry to fire up our fitness mojo.
Despite looking decades younger, Halle Berry is actually celebrating her 52 birthday today (we know, we can’t believe it either!)
If you’re anything like us, you’ll be desperate to find out how the actress seems to defy the ageing process and maintain her youthful looks.

But we can certainly gleam some hints from her Instagram platform, which she’s been busy using to share her lifestyle and health tips with her 2.8 million followers.
When it comes to working out, the ‘Monster’s Ball’ star details her, often gruelling, regime via her motivational #FitnessFriday posts.
From gravity defying yoga poses, to the power of stillness and having fun while you’re exercising, the actress delivers a little slice of inspiration to those wanting to up their fitness, mental wellbeing and keep the ageing process at bay.
In one of her posts, the actress shared that she is in the “best shape of her life.” And that’s thanks to working out five times a week. As well as yoga, other cardio, and weights, Halle also regularly boxes with trainer Peter Lee Thomas.

But it isn’t just working out that Halle credits for her age-defying looks, the actress also believes meditation is key to a happier, healthier life.
“Many argue that some of the happiest people are those who spend time each day meditating. I can tell you that I’ve felt happier and more like my best self since I started,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post.
“I’ve learned that meditation helps to balance your left brain and right brain, and as a result I feel more creative, I can absorb information faster and I experience better emotional health.”
When it comes to her diet, the actress swears that following a ‘ketogenic’ lifestyle not only contributes to her envious physique, but also helps manage her type 2 diabetes.
“Keto is a very low-carb food plan which actually forces your body to burn fat like crazy. I also believe it’s been largely responsible for slowing down my aging process,” she wrote on her Instagram recently.
“The keto lifestyle offers so many benefits such as weight loss, (moms that’s how we get rid of our baby bellies), appetite control, more energy and better mental performance. If you’re like me, you can possibly reverse type 2 diabetes, you’ll experience better physical endurance, better skin and also less acne if that’s an issue.”

And there’s one particular dish that the actress praises for keeping her skin looking young – bone broth.
“You can make it,” she told Extra. “You can go to the butcher and get all the bones they’re going to throw away and he’ll give them to you for free. Take the bones, boil them up for 24 hours, and you drink the broth. It’s so full of collagen that it’s crazy.”
