Gogglebox family’s ‘secret son’ not allowed to join show

The Baggs family have become household names amongst the younger generation since rising to fame on Gogglebox, now having garnered online fame on TikTok and even beginning their own podcast, Not My Bagg, which has welcomed a myriad of celebrities.

Made up of couple Terry and Lisa and their two sons, Joe and George, the family were on Gogglebox from 2020 until leaving in 2022 after three seasons on the show. Now, Lisa and her sons co-host their podcast, which has over 360K followers on TikTok. However, it was revealed after the quartet left the show that George and Joe have another 'secret' brother, who was not featured on Gogglebox.

Despite fans knowing two younger sons, George and Joe, there is actually an eldest; Danny

Their older brother is Danny Bayley, Lisa's 34-year-old eldest son from a previous relationship. Revealing the news in a TikTok clip at Christmas in 2022, George and Joe are seen dancing before Danny comes onto the screen. The trio dance as a caption appears over the clip, reading: “When the secret brother who wasn’t allowed on Gogglebox comes over for Christmas.”

Joe captioned: “Danny really stole the show with this one,” while Lisa took to the comments to write "My babies" and “My secret son.” They never disclosed why Danny 'wasn't allowed' on Gogglebox, with many fans asking in the comment section.

Previously, Joe opened up about his family's decision to leave Gogglebox, explaining on The Useless Hotline podcast: "We decided that there were things we wanted to do that we couldn't do while we were on the show. There is a reason why there's not many young people on there."

"It's because we're in this new age of social media that me and George love so much," he added. Joe then noted that he couldn't see himself in the Gogglebox cycle any longer, "coming home every week and eating a takeaway." Instead, he shared that he had so much more he wanted to do.

After confirming their exit reason, Joe was keen to add that his family enjoyed every single moment of being on the show, and labelled the experience as the "opportunity of a lifetime."

And it appears he was spot on with the decision, as Joe now boasts two million followers on TikTok, which has led to him bagging (no pun intended) a slew of brand deals with big names like Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, Burger King and Fanta. While his younger brother George is not far behind with a whopping 1.6 million followers.
