Glossier are refunding customers for their mascara
This week Glossier released their first ever mascara, Lash Slick and it's fair to say the Internet was buzzing about it.
With its promise of 'baby lash extensions' and a formula that doesn't flake, smudge or budge all day long, it sounded like 'the one'. We tested it and quickly fell in love with the whole 'your lashes but better' concept, so when we heard that Glossier were issuing customer refunds already we were a little shocked.

When Lash Slick first launched on Glossier's website, the mascara was labelled as vegan due to the fact it was made with vegan biotin. However customers were quick to notice that one of the main ingredients in the formula was beeswax, which isn't vegan.
@glossier is lash stick vegan? The website claims that it is, but clearly lists beeswax as an ingredient. pic.twitter.com/ZdyUzAspBb

Glossier has built quite the reputation for it's customer service. When a bride-to-be contacted them as her favourite Haloscope highlighter was out of stock, the team searched the entire office to see if anyone had an unopened one in their makeup bag and promptly shipped one out to her for her wedding day. So we shouldn't be surprised that Glossier handled their error in the best possible way.
After apologising for their copy mistake and confirming that due to the inclusion of beeswax the formula is actually not vegan, Glossier sent all customers who purchased the mascara (before the website was amended) a refund.

The full email from Glossier:
"Hi there,
Thank you for being one of the first customers to purchase Lash Slick, a product that's been years in the making and that we're so proud of.
This morning, we unfortunately made a copy mistake in labelling this mascara as vegan, and are writing to let you know that Lash Slick is actually not vegan. While the biotin ingredient in Lash Slick is vegan, due to the inclusion of beeswax, the formula is not.

We understand that if you had known this, your preference may have been to not purchase Lash Slick. The product is on its way to you already, but we've proactively refunded you for full cost of Lash Slick just in case. We sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience that this may have caused.
Please let us know if you need anything else in the meantime."
So if you ordered the mascara before the copy change, Glossier will have automatically processed your refund already.
Hey @glossier why did you send me a refund?

@glossier Just got a $16 refund with no explanation.. which is the price of Lash Slick.. does this mean what I think it means?

@glossier Just sent me a refund and I'm really hoping it's not because the Lash Slick I ordered is out of stock because that would make my heart so sad. :(
