Though those of us living in the UK are living in lockdown due to the coronavirus, it doesn’t mean that nature is.
With that in mind, one man in quarantine over in the United States made the squirrels in his garden a tiny picnic table to eat off and the idea fast took off.
Rick Kalinowski, 43, who posted his new garden creation on Facebook last week, told Caters News Agency that he built the picnic bench and placed it outside the living room window so he could “watch the squirrels each while I have my coffee every morning.”
The post was quickly shared online, including on Twitter by Lucy Small, which went viral.
It has already racked up over 400k likes and 80k comments, many saying “today I learned I need more furniture for my squirrels” and “are you selling them?! I’d buy one”.

Now people all over social media, and all over the world, are turning their trees and fences into adorable picnic areas for their bushy-tailed garden visitors.
