Elizabeth Hurley opens up about weight gain as she reveals she's struggling to button her jeans
Elizabeth Hurley has revealed she is struggling to do up her jeans as she opens up about weight gain following an injury.
The actress, 56, has been prevented from being as active as usual after tearing her ankle ligaments late last year while filming abroad.
In a post on Instagram, the star revealed that she was heading to the Vivamayr clinic in Austria – famous for helping Rebel Wilson's weight loss – to "detox".
Captioning a selfie from the rural retreat, she wrote: "I tore the ligaments in my left ankle whilst filming in the Caribbean in November.
"Lying on the sofa for two months, followed by a month of limping around in an air boot, meant that I basically became a slug.
"I don’t weigh myself but my jeans were objecting violently to being done up so something had to be done.
"Still not really able to put much pressure on my foot, meaning not much exercise, and a new movie looming, I decided to return to @vivamayrmariawoerth – a wellness spa in Austria."
Hurley's post has received more than 43,000 'likes', with hundreds of social media users leaving messages of support.
These includes her famous friend Trinny Woodall, who commented: "Looks delightful have a wonderful time."
In a follow-up Instagram post, Hurley, who is mother to 19-year-old son Damian, posed on a window sill in a white T-Shirt with a mountainous scene in the background – her injured ankle on display.
Captioning the image, she wrote: "Here I go – ready for the big detox @vivamayrmariawoerth."
The picture received 128,000 'likes', with many fans telling her she looked "beautiful" and "gorgeous".
One shared: "Is this what it looks like when the jeans don’t fit? You look fantastic, be healthy and good to yourself."
