Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finalise charity 'split' from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken the final step to remove Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from their joint charity.
Documents made public by Companies House today confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been removed from the Royal Foundation’s charity name.
The two pieces of paperwork, available on the Companies House website, confirm the Royal Foundation’s change of name from “The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex” to simply “The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge”.
The resolution was passed on 8 August, according to the documents.

The name change comes just 14 months after the name was amended to include the Sussexes, following Meghan and Harry’s wedding on 19 May 2018.
Meanwhile, the Sussexes new charity foundation will be titled “Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex”, according to a Companies House document made public in a tweet shared last month by The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews.

The so-called ‘fab four’ first appeared together ahead of the wedding in February 2018 in an official appearance at the Royal Foundation forum.
The Royal Foundation website is yet to be updated, and still includes pictures of both the Cambridges and the Sussexes carrying out engagements for the charity, including Meghan Markle’s charity cookbook launch and Prince Harry’s work for the Endeavour Fund.
It follows a high-profile “split” of the royal households of the Cambridges and the Sussexes.
Up until the beginning of this year, the two couples had a joint household office based at Kensington Palace.

Yet, last October reports emerged that the royal households would divide – following the Sussexes move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor and ahead of the arrival of the royal baby.
In March this year, the royal household split was formally confirmed: with news the two couples would have separate offices, to reflect their separate responsibilities.
