Duchess of Cambridge turns 39: These photos prove she has always had a cheeky side
The Duchess of Cambridge turns 39 on Saturday 9 January, becoming another royal to celebrate a birthday in a lockdown.
Kate might be feeling pleased though, as it’s thought she and her family made it to Norfolk before the Tier 4 restrictions and lockdown were implemented in London, where they usually live.
It would mean like the rest of her family she’ll mark her birthday this year in Anmer Hall, the home they were given as a wedding present from the Queen.
Any plans she might have made for her 39th will have to be reduced to a quiet day with family, but for sporty, outdoor loving Kate, she will relish the chance to be in the countryside with her children.
She’s previously said she is happy when she is “with my family, out in the countryside and we are all filthy dirty”.

While royal engagements and events often require her to be serious, over the years Kate has often shown that she has a cheeky side, something she has passed on to her children.
From getting stuck in at sports, to cooing over children, Kate’s exuberant expressions show she has a fun and playful side always ready to break out.
The Duchess of Cambridge may be the future Queen, but these pictures show a different side to one of Britain’s favourite royals.
