The Duchess of Cambridge wears icy blue Alexander McQueen at Trooping the Colour
Of course we’re tuning into today’s Trooping the Colour for all the brilliantly British pomp and pageantry, but (as always) there’s one lady we were really looking forward to seeing above all: the Duchess of Cambridge.
Today, the 36-year-old is making her second public appearance since the arrival of her third child, Prince Louis, following her debut post-birth outing at the royal wedding.
We first caught the first glimpse of the Duchess as she departed Buckingham Palace for the carriage procession, sitting beside the Duchess of Cornwall.
Staying true to one of her favourite brands, the Duchess wore an icy blue Alexander McQueen dress which features a puff-shoulder, three-quarter length sleeves and a cinched-in waist.
The Duchess wore the dress with a decorative Juliette Botterill hat in a matching hue.
Later, the Duchess took to the famous Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the RAF show, where she tended to little ones Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The Duchess stood just in front of Meghan Markle, who made her debut at the annual event.
The royal is now surely an old hand at the event: today marks her eighth Trooping the Colour since her marriage to Prince William in 2011.
Previous Trooping looks have included bespoke hats by royal milliners Phillip Treacy and Lock & Co and a lot of Alexander McQueen dresses.
Today’s choice of designer means the Duchess has worn the brand’s creations for seven out of eight of her appearances on the famed balcony.
As they say, stick with what you know!
