Duchess of Cambridge visits Wisley in £1,635 Emilia Wickstead dress
The Duchess of Cambridge made a surprise appearance at RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey this afternoon to open a new play garden.
Demonstrating how to tackle the surprisingly sunny autumn weather, the mother-of-three dressed in a £1,635 floral shirt dress by go-to designer Emilia Wickstead.
By our count, she has worn the London-based label at least 15 times previously.
To finish the daytime ensemble, the 37-year-old stuck to her trademark regal waves and her favourite pair of ‘Fleur’ taupe-hued espadrilles from Monsoon.
Having fallen under the ‘Kate Effect’, they have sadly since sold out but a navy colourway are still available to shop in the Monsoon sale for £13.50.
The new play area was co-designed by the Duchess of Cambridge and Davies White Landscape Architects to encourage families to enjoy the great outdoors together.

Though it’s not the first time that the royal has expressed a love for gardening, as she exhibited a ‘Back to Nature’ garden at the Chelsea Flower Show on May 19.
Designed to showcase the positive impact nature can have on our mental health, the garden featured a rope swing, treehouse and a stream complete with waterfalls.
Her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, famously visited the garden with her eldest son giving the project an impressive score of ‘20’.
“In recent years I have focused much of my work on the early years, and how instrumental they are for outcomes later in life,” the Duchess of Cambridge announced at the time.
“I believe that spending time outdoors when we are young can play a role in laying the foundations for children to become happy, healthy adults.”
