Last night, the industry’s biggest names took time out from London Fashion Week for the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange reception at Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cambridge and fellow royal Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, hosted the event which boasted Edward Enninful, Anna Wintour and Stella McCartney on the guest list.

And unfazed by recent backlash against her BAFTAs look, the 36-year-old looked to go-to label, Erdem, for her Fashion Week debut.

The pregnant royal accessorised the floral dress with her favourite wavy-cut Prada heels and cradled her blossoming bump throughout the evening (due to a notably absent clutch).

The event saw 31 designers and 26 artisans from the Commonwealth unite to create eco-friendly fashion in a bid to promote a more sustainable future for the industry.

And the sustainable project, backed by Eco-Age founder Livia Firth, saw the likes of Burberry and Stella McCartney represent the UK.

While designer Karen Walker, flew the sartorial flag for New Zealand.

According to Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland QC, the initiative will hopefully make ‘sustainability and fairness very real and tangible’.

And for fashion fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the collection, the exhibition will be made public at Australia House on February 21st.
