Duchess of Cambridge rubs shoulders with Alexa Chung at star-studded National Portrait Gallery gala
The Duchess of Cambridge’s second National Portrait Gallery gala was a star-studded one. The stylish royal was joined by a host of famous faces including Alexa Chung and one of Kate’s favourite designers, Erdem Moralioglu.
Kate chose a classic green lace gown by Temperley London for the occasion. The bespoke design appears to be a combination of two of the brand’s bestselling dresses: the Cleo and Ariel.
This is actually the second time the Duchess has donned the look although we only got a glimpse of it through a car window last year on the way to the Queen’s 90th birthday dinner.
She amped up the ensemble with gold accessories including a glitter clutch by Wilbur and Gussie (still available for £195) and metallic strappy sandals by Jimmy Choo.
Kate’s hair was worn down in its usual royal waves with a pair of stone drop earrings adding the finishing touch.
The Duchess has been a patron of the institution since 2012. During last night’s gala, she visited the gallery and took a look at the latest exhibitions along with bumping into a few of Prince George’s future classmates.
This year’s event focused on raising funds for Coming Home: an initiative that assists with the return of famous personalities’ portraits to various historical places.
It has also been announced that Kate will take a one-day tour of Luxembourg in May to celebrate the commemoration of the Treaty of London. Unlike most other royal tours, the Duchess will be visiting the country solo.
