The bardot trend is back: Shop the Duchess of Cambridge's latest look
Last night (June 12), the Duchess of Cambridge demonstrated the art of sartorial recycling in an off-the-shoulder dress she debuted back in 2016.
For a prestigious dinner to mark Addiction Awareness Week, the 37-year-old chose a £1,580 Barbara Casasola bardot knit dress complete with long sleeves and a flared skirt.
Royal fans were quick to note that the mother-of-three first wore the ensemble at the 2016 Art Fund awards paired with baby pink peep toe shoes.
Braving the capital’s rainy weather, Kate gave the outfit a SS19 upgrade with a pair of her go-to Jimmy Choo heels and a brand new £205 Wilbur & Gussie clutch - which has since sold out.
Though you don’t need a Kensington Palace postcode to achieve the look, as the bardot trend has long ruled the high street with a number of purse-friendly brands jumping on the royal bandwagon.
First garnering a spot in the fashion history books in the sixties courtesy of silver screen star Brigitte Bardot, hence the name, the demure look underwent a revival for SS16 - with celebrities and royals alike adopting the trend.
