Just six months ago we barely knew what the real purpose of a face mask was, let alone that fast-forward a little and we would be ordering them in bulk online.
However, since the UK government announced that face masks had to be worn on all public transport from the 15th June.
This advice, released on 11 May 2020, also suggested face coverings should be worn in enclosed spaces - including when visiting some shops.
Our favourite brands - high street and high fashion - responded to the demand for wearable masks and face coverings by designing and selling their own, reusable versions in all manner of pretty patterns, striking colours and soft materials.
And now none other than Disney themselves have released their own collection of masks.
The cloth, non-surgical face coverings come in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes and in a wide variety of prints featuring a range of fan favourite characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Elsa, The Avengers, the Child – affectionately known as Baby Yoda – and more.
ShopDisney’s cloth face coverings are available to pre-order from today in packs of four on ShopDisney.co.uk, with an expected delivery date of 31 August. They are priced at £20 and are estimated to ship in August. Care instructions, including washing and fitting guidelines, can be found on the site too.
As part of the launch, Disney will donate 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these cloth face coverings, up to £500,000, to Red Cross organisations across Europe, including the British Red Cross and their vital work to support people in crisis, from now until the 30th of November 2020.
Disney will also donate 100,000 cloth face coverings to vulnerable children and families in local communities across Europe through long-standing charity partners, including in the UK MediCinema, who bring comfort and inspiration to children.
There are six different sets of four to choose from at the moment, have a browse below to pre-order your very own - very unexpected - pieces of Disney merchandise.
