Demi Lovato's ex Wilmer Valderrama 'devastated' over her reported overdose, didn't know her issues were this 'severe'
Wilmer Valderrama, the actor who dated Demi Lovato for six years, from 2010 to 2016, is “completely devastated” to hear about Lovato’s reported overdose.
The couple has remained friends following their breakup, and remain supportive of each other.
According to Us Weekly, Wilmer still loves Demi, and their breakup was “just a matter of scheduling and time that they needed to make a romantic relationship work.” The source went on to say, “[Valderrama] was not aware that her issues were this severe and intense at this time.”
The source also referenced the Lovato’s song, “Sober,” in which she admits that after six years of sobriety, she had fallen off the wagon. “She’s been honest with him about her relapse, as she has with her family, friends, fans and the entire public, especially with her new song, but he didn’t think it was this severe and that she would be struggling so much and have a situation that had these repercussions.”
Lovato was hospitalised after she was found unconscious in her home in Hollywood. It is being reported that her friends administered Narcan before she was taken to the hospital.
Lovato’s rep has released the following statement regarding her condition: “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
