Victoria Beckham's photo of David and Harper reignites debate about kissing children on the lips
Victoria Beckham has once again divided opinion by sharing a photo of her husband David Beckham kissing daughter Harper on the lips.
The singer turned fashion designer, 46, posted a couple of images of her husband sharing a sweet autumn moment with their youngest child Harper, nine, on Tuesday 20 October.
Posing in front of a wreath made of foliage, red berries and holly, the pictures captured all the autumn vibes.
“The best daddy @davidbeckham #HarperSeven X,” Victoria captioned the images, which she shared with her 28.7 million followers.

While the majority of fans commented on the sweet sentiment behind the father/daughter moment, describing the images as “adorable”, some social media users criticised the couple for promoting parents kissing their children on the lips.
“Please stop kissing kids on the lips,” one user wrote.
“David, that kind of kiss with your daughter... It is pretty weird,” another agreed.
“If that’s in public people will look at it in a weird way,” another person commented.

Others, however, didn’t see anything wrong with the image of Beckham kissing his daughter and stepped in to defend the family.
“He’s her dad,” one person wrote. “I still kiss my kids on the lips, because they’re my kids and I love them.”
“Oh grow up – it’s showing affection,” another person hit back. “You need your head checked if you think there is a problem with that.”
“I question what sort person has a problem with a child’s parent kissing them,” another wrote.

One commenter thanked the couple for normalising kissing your own children on the lips. “Thank you for showing it is perfectly normal and right for a father to kiss his daughter on the lips as a sign of love and true affection,” they wrote.

This isn’t the first time the Beckhams have sparked a debate about kissing children on the lips.
Last summer, Piers Morgan hit out at the former footballer for sharing a video of himself giving Harper a peck on the lips on a boat while on holiday.
Morgan described the cute moment as “weird and creepy.”
“It’s very sweet…[But] why would a father kiss his daughter on the lips? Don’t get it – creepy. Weird,” Morgan said on Good Morning Britain.
“Then you post that for the world – you posted that for the world, why?” he added.

Beckham has previously hit back at criticism he received after sharing an Instagram post of him pecking Harper on the lips at an ice skating rink.
The picture garnered 1.4 million likes – but some of David’s 52.2 million followers weren’t fans of the loving gesture, including Piers Morgan, who once again described the gesture as “weird.”
But the dad-of-four was quick to fire back to explain that he is “affectionate” with all his kids.
“I kiss all my kids on the lips,” he said in a Facebook Live in 2017.
“Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange,” he continued.
“I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children.
“We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them, and you know, we’re very affectionate with them,” he added.

Victoria has also previously come under fire for sharing an image of her kissing Harper on the lips.
The Beckhams aren’t the only celebrities to find themselves on the receiving end of criticism for kissing their children on the lips.
Hilary Duff was also forced to defend herself after sharing an image of her kissing her son, then four.
And Kourtney Kardashian received a backlash for posting a picture of her kissing her son Reign.
