As any bottle-feeding parent will testify when it’s milk time, you’re pretty much tied to feeding and not a lot else. But a dad turned rookie inventor has come up with a clever little gadget that allows new parents to multitask on their smartphones while bottle-feeding their babies.
Tim Causa from Northern Virginia in the US had the light-bulb moment to create the device when he was his feeding his baby son in the middle of the night. He says it was his son, Jack’s acid reflux, which actually lead to the creation of Swipe and Feed.
“Typically, we bottle fed our son, Jack, almost every hour for 25 minutes at a time,” Tim wrote on the Swipe and Feed website.
“I had the night feedings, so for 25 minutes at a time, I was in a dark, quiet room dream feeding my son. Then, it dawned on me, what if I could catch-up on work while he fed?” he continues.
“But I needed something to help me hold a bottle and my smartphone. I searched online for solutions, but nothing was on the market. That’s when I decided to seize the opportunity and solve the problem myself,” he explains.
The simple contraption, holds a baby’s wide-mouth bottle as well as a smartphone, enabling parents to feed their baby at the perfect angle while also catching up on important work emails/scroll through Instagram.
Crafted from flexible polypropylene plastic, Swipe and Feed features an adjustable bottle clip that can be moved up and down depending on the size of the bottle.
The device has been designed to fit most popular smartphones including the iPhone 6, 6s and 7, without a case, along with Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

Swipe and Feed are currently seeking funding on their Kickstarter page, but though many parents have got in touch with the product inventor thanking him for answering their feeding guilty prayers, some parents have questioned whether the gadget will interfere with baby bonding.
“For working mums like myself who want to provide for their baby and family, this is a must. I can’t tell you how many times I needed to respond to a time sensitive email, while dream feeding and couldn’t,” one woman wrote on the product’s Facebook page.
“I must say this is pretty cool. However, feeding time is such a special bonding time that doesn’t last very long at all. Before you know it your baby will be grown. I enjoyed and cherished every feeding I gave my little baby boy and looking into his big blue eyes…not my phone,” added another.
