Couple finally gets dream wedding shoot - 60 years later
Sometimes in a world with Tinder and Bumble, it can be hard to remember true love is still a very real thing. For one couple, their 1957 wedding was a family affair in his grandfather’s yard with her aunt’s homemade cake. Her dress was designed by her godmother and the day was remembered as a gathering to celebrate love.
Sixty years, nine children, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren later, Dona Rosa and Seu Russo were invited to commemorate the day they agreed to build their futures together. While they didn’t have any photos from the original event in 1957, a duo of creatives in São Paulo, Brazil, invited the couple to recreate their favourite wedding day memories, leaving us all with serious relationship goals.
Photographer Dávid of São Paulo Fotografia and his partner Vivian captured the couple’s special day. With a beautiful outdoor setting, vintage furniture and accessories, the photographs are a Pinterest board come to life.
The couple’s outfits were supplied by local businesses who wanted to be part of the special celebration. And like the photographs show, their love, as captured, is still very much authentic, made more beautiful by their many years together.
