Costa receives mocking response for new ‘flat black’ coffee
Costa Coffee has come under fire for the introduction of a ‘black white’ to its menu.
In a bid to revamp the chain, the company recently launched the ‘Flat White Family‘ range on the back of the now-popular ‘flat white’.
But the caffeine giant has faced backlash with many taking to Twitter to call out the new beverage’s similarities to erm, a standard black coffee:

I don’t mind Costa as such, but the introduction of the ‘Flat Black’ might just try even my patience. #coffeebore

Costa coffee are all smug with their new ‘Flat Black’. If you were wondering; it’s a slightly smaller than normal americano.

According to a press release, the ‘Flat Family’ offers a ‘new range of styles and flavours’ and each beverage is ‘handcrafted by an expert barista using the purest coffee extraction method, a cortissimo shot – 21 grams of coffee extracted over 15 seconds to create shorter extraction’.
Sadly, it may take a little more convincing than that…
