Clarks shoe shop has announced it will replace children’s shoes for free between now and February 2021 if they grow out of them.
With coronavirus hitting footfall, the shoe shop is trying to encourage people into its store for a special fitting with the promise that parents won’t have to buy another pair until 28 February next year.
If they end up outgrowing their shoes after their fitting, Clarks will exchange them for free.
The deal applies to the store’s back-to-school range, which includes all full-priced school shoes, boots, plimsolls and sports shoes.

However, there are some conditions to the offer.
The main one is that it only applies to infant sizes 10 and above. If your little one fits into shoe sizes 7 to 9.5, you will still be able to take advantage of the offer but it’ll only run until 30 November 2020.
Shoes have to be bought between 13 July and 14 September in order to qualify and the shoes must be fitted by a trained Clarks shoe fitter.
The shoes must be bought in store, too. Much like the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, Clarks is looking to get more people into its stores, so buying online won’t count towards the deal.

If you’re still a bit apprehensive about visiting stores after the coronavirus lockdown, Clarks has had a COVID-19 protection plan in place since it reopened its doors. The number of people being allowed in the store is capped, with a queuing system and social distancing in place.
As far as being fitted goes, if you’d rather not have somebody touch you, the trained fitters are able to explain to you how to measure your feet in store.
Protective screens and regular cleans have also been implemented.

Clarks isn’t the first brand to offer this kind of guarantee. Treads also offers an “indestructible” year-round guarantee for 12 months on its girls and boys’ school shoes.
It covers all areas of the shoes but not the laces or the in-soles.
The “back to school” offers are coming in thick and fast now that the government has confirmed that all children must return to school in September following lockdown.
