Chrissy Teigen opens up about pregnancy anxiety and shares sweet video of daughter helping scan her bump
Chrissy Teigen has shared a video of her baby scan, while opening up about the anxiety she’s been feeling in early pregnancy.
The mum-to-be shared a sweet video on Instagram of her sonogram, during which she enlisted the help of her daughter Luna, four, or “Dr Luna”.
As Luna helped the doctor move a handheld device across Teigen’s stomach, the model asked her daughter: “What do you see, doctor?” before the toddler laughed.
In the accompanying caption, the model and cookbook writer discussed the anxiety she feels about “bits of spotting or pain” that many women experience in early pregnancy.
“On weekends we freak out!” she writes.
“Before I’m able to start feeling the kicks, the anxiety gets the best of me and any little bits of spotting or pain freak me ouuuuuut.”

In an admission many pregnant women will no doubt be able to relate to, Teigen goes on to say that her fears are often only put to rest after a scan.
“One day I swear I’ll buy one of these machines but by then I’ll be all done with having monsters!
“But as my little Luna embarks on her very first sleepover tonight, another little one makes some big growth moves of their own. All is well.”

Since Teigen posted the clip other parents have shared their own stories of pregnancy anxiety in comments on the post.
“I was the worst, went for ultrasounds all the time! Hated the weekends!” one mum wrote.
“Oh the anxiety I remember it well,” another person wrote. “When you’ve had to fight for your babies it always feels too good to be true ... hang on in there warrior.”
“I would have had a scan every other day if I could have! Just so lovely and reassuring,” another parent shared.

Teigen isn’t the only celebrity to open up about anxiety in pregnancy.
New mum Sheridan Smith recently shared how her mental health suffered when she temporarily came off her medication while pregnant as she feared it would harm her unborn baby.
Speaking on This Morning to discuss her documentary on motherhood she revealed the pregnancy anxieties she experienced.
It is common for people to feel a little anxious when they have a baby on the way but around one in five women may experience something called perinatal anxiety during their pregnancy through the first year after giving birth.
This condition is characterised by high levels of anxiety and symptoms can include constantly worrying about the pregnancy or baby, feeling tense, nervous or on-edge, having a general sense of dread and difficulty concentrating or racing thoughts.
