If you’ve never read Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s books before, chances are you heard her as a soundbite on Beyoncé’s song ‘***Flawless’. As well as an brilliant novelist, the Nigerian writer is also known for her thought-provoking lectures on culture and feminism.
But now, Adichie’s pursuing something less literary and becoming the new face of Boots’ No7 beauty.
Boots officially announced the move on Tuesday, and we’re totally on board. Because as well as being a generally excellent human being, Adichie has long been an out-and-proud beauty and makeup lover.

“I love make-up and its wonderful possibilities for temporary transformation. And I also love my face after I wash it all off,” she said in a statement.
“There is something exquisitely enjoyable about seeing yourself with a self-made new look. And for me that look is deeply personal. It isn’t about what is in fashion or what the rules are supposed to be. It’s about what I like.
“What makes me want to smile when I look in the mirror. What makes me feel slightly better on a dull day. What makes me comfortable.”

According to Vogue, the campaign will launch on TV, online, in print and in outdoor media on October 21.
So as well as providing us with the life inspo she already has for years, now she can be our beauty icon as well. We can’t wait.
