Cheryl Cole has admitted she regrets going blonde

If you’ve hit the hairdressers in the hope of being transformed into your favourite celebrity, you’re not alone.

Armed with a magazine cut-out of your chosen star, even if the stylists do a pretty good job you’ll definitely be disappointed when you don’t leave looking exactly like Beyoncé.

Which is exactly what happened to Cheryl Cole, as she recently admitted she regrets going blonde in an attempt to look like Queen Bey.

In her latest advert for L’Oreal, the pop star said that she tried out the look during her experimental phase, but the result was “hideous”.

In the campaign video, which she recently shared on her Instagram, she confessed:

“There was a phase I went through where I wanted to experiment, and I wanted blonde hair like Beyonce.

“So, I sat for 12 hours in a salon only for it to look hideous.”

She added: “Part of what I do as a job comes under a lot of scrutiny and people do look at my hair.

“As I’ve grown over the years it just becomes less relevant.”

We can only assume she’s referring to the mid noughties: during Beyoncé’s post ‘Crazy In Love’ soar to fame and when both Cheryl and Beyoncé’s hair was at its lightest points.

Which is when we too dabbled in some very questionable highlights (much worse than Cheryl’s).

So Cheryl, you’re not alone; the noughties was one hell of an era.
