Carrie Symonds wore a £255 sustainable eco-dress - and this is where you can buy it

Carrie Symonds has made quite the impression since becoming the UK’s ‘first girlfriend’ and while all eyes were on her first solo speech, we couldn’t help but notice her stunning floral dress.

She has a habit of championing high street buys, from her now sold out £120 Ghost dress and £159 Whistles dress, but Boris Johnson’s girlfriend decided to mirror her environmental views through her fashion choices.

The 31-year-old attended Birdfair, an environmental awareness conference, in Rutland where she gave her first solo speech wearing a £255 floral midi-length dress designed by eco-friendly designer Justine Tabak which she styled with a pair of wellington boots and a red handbag.

The Liberty Cotton Riding House dress is made from a blend of cotton - a natural fabric that is biodegradable and doesn’t contain microplastics.

The dress has been made in collaboration with Liberty of London and made in partnership with the Better Cotton Initiative, a collective movement to promote better farming practices.

The designer posted a picture of the dress on her Instagram page, with a caption which said that Liberty has been doing its best to “make their world famous cloth more sustainable.”

The description of the dress reads: “With a slight nod to the Eighties, the Riding House dress has romance written all over it with its ‘leg ‘o’ mutton sleeves, square neck and softly flowing midi length. Updated for modern living, we have eased out the waist, simplified the cut and added deep pockets for your mobile phone.”

The dress costs £255 and is only available to preorder but you’ll have to be quick, there is already a waitlist.

If her fashion influence so far is anything to go by, we reckon the ‘Carrie Effect’ will be in full swing soon, so you’ll have to be quick.
