Cara Delevingne's fascination with Megan Thee Stallion confounds Twitter users

Supermodel Cara Delevingne seems to have taken her “Embrace your weirdness” Twitter bio to heart at the Billboard Music Awards, and fans on the social media platform can’t seem to get enough of her apparent fascination with rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

From the pre-award show to Megan collecting her award for Best Rap Female on stage, the model stayed glued to the artist, and was seen photobombing nearly every photo and video.

Let’s start at the beginning. Ahead of the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday evening, model Cara Delevingne and Houston artist Megan Thee Stallion had pictures taken together before the red carpet.

Megan – real name Megan Pete – wore a stunning ruched fabric design with strategically placed sections by Mugler for the event, later changing into a barely there jumpsuit for her performance at the awards ceremony.

It's not unusual for celebrities such as Cara – who was wearing an all-black outfit complete with army boots and yellow-lense sunglasses – to be seen hanging out with each other. So far so normal.

Then we get to the red carpet, where Cara was seen (or not seen) hiding behind the backdrop boards of the red carpet, subtly (or not so subtly as it turns out) staring at musician Megan who was posing for photographers.

She then dumps her things, and seemingly runs to Megan’s rescue. Where she proceeds to throw the sash section of Megan’s Mugler dress into the air so that photographers could catch an in-the-moment pic.

Women building women up on the red carpet? We love to see it! But Twitter couldn’t get enough of the clips once an image of Cara hiding went viral on the platform.

“your chances of being watched by cara delevingne are slim but never zero [sic],” wrote one user who shared the viral picture.

Inside the event, Cara barely left Megan’s side, with some Twitter users commenting on how the model would seemingly “pop up” from nowhere. Even when sat with artist Doja Cat, Cara couldn’t help but be near Megan it seems.

Although some Twitter users noted Delevingne’s behaviour as ‘bizarre’ and said she seemed ‘obsessed with’ the rapper, the model is actually a friend of Megan’s. The two stars were reportedly seen dancing together at Cardi B’s Met Gala after party at the beginning of May.

All in all it seems the supermodel had a blast from the moment she entered the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.

When not being Megan’s fashion assistant, she was ready to help other attendees get iconic pics of the event, even lying down on the floor to snap photos of Doja Cat, Fat Joe and DJ Khaled from different angles.

And when she wasn't playing the role of photographer, she was seen catching up with friends Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Anitta and Diplo, and of course when Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott arrived with their daughter Stormi Webster, Cara couldn’t help but say hello to the famous four year old.
