Cancel your dinner plans: Subway just launched a six-foot sandwich
If Subway’s meal deal leaves your stomach rumbling for more, then the fast food chain’s latest venture is guaranteed to make your taste buds water.
The sandwich giant has launched its first ever six-foot whopper aptly named the ‘Giant Sub’. Designed for 25 people (let’s be frank, it depends how peckish you are) the sandwich is taller than the average British male.
The Subway – which can be made in any of the 62 million flavours on offer – has only been built once so far. The Italian B.M.T took over 2.5 hours to make with three sandwich chefs on duty.
The impressive baguette boasted 96 slices of pepperoni and salami, 64 slices of American-style cheese and ham topped with 680 grams of lettuce (you know, to include one of your five a day).
But the jam-packed sub will come at a greater price than your average meal deal, as it costs a cool £116.
And you may want to ring your order in early, as the sub requires 15 minutes of braiding time, 60 minutes to prove and 15 minutes to bake. It will then need to rest for 30 minutes before another half an hour is dedicated to adding the juicy ingredients.
Feeling peckish? The ‘Giant Sub’ is currently only up for grabs at the City Road branch in London but will soon be rolled out across the nation.
