Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, photographed by Mario Testino for 70th birthday portrait
Today, 17 July 2017, the Duchess of Cornwall celebrates her 70th birthday. She has marked the special occasion with a portrait next to her husband of 12 years, Prince Charles.
Shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino, the photo shows the royal couple dressed in navy with Camilla donning an eye-catching pearl necklace and matching earrings.
The Peruvian photographer, who is loved by Vogue, has become a royal favourite over the years, shooting everyone from Diana to William and Kate.
He has also had a great working relationship with Charles and Camilla for many years, having photographed their first wedding anniversary in 2006.
“I first photographed the Duchess after her wedding to the Prince on a commission from British Vogue in 2006, and discovered a kind and beautiful person with a wonderful sense of humour,” Testino commented.
“Doing this latest assignment to celebrate Her Royal Highness’s 70th birthday is a true honour.”
Some of Testino’s most well-known portraits are of Princess Diana lounging around. They were taken just months before she passed away in a tragic car accident in 1997.
He also photographed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their official engagement photos and has even been given time with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
