Blake Lively flashes sculpted abs in bralette at NYFW: How the actor stays in shape
Blake Lively looked toned as ever when she made an appearance at New York Fashion Week.
The 34-year-old arrived at the Michael Kors Collection Autumn/Winter 2022 fashion show in a co-ordinated ice blue outfit, consisting of a pencil skirt and bralette, revealing her abs in between.
She also wore a jacket over her shoulders, with white shoes matching her clutch purse, and had waved hair and bold red lips.
But how does the actor and mum of three to James, seven, Inez, five and Betty, two, who she shares with fellow actor and husband Ryan Reynolds, 45, stay so fit?
Of course, with every great looking celebrity (acknowledging many do also just look naturally great to begin with), comes a great trainer – and in Lively's case it's Don Saladino.
As someone who has been in fitness for more than 25 years, his methods are undoubtedly well informed. "It's not just about you upping your heart rate, it's about your body's resilience and energy," he told Women's Health on his training of Lively last November. "While we're increasing movement quality, we're making sure we're optimising everything we do."
Saladino has worked with Lively after her pregnancies, as well as helping her get to the fitness level needed for The Shallows, in which she did most of her own stunts. "We're all athletes as, even if someone's not shooting a movie role, adults have to chase their kids or sit at their desk all day long. We're all battling that same battle, so I try to get people moving the way our bodies are meant to move," he explained.

But for Lively and his other celebrity clients (which also includes Anne Hathaway) his goals are never just for a quick fix. He added, "Every single person who does my programme day in, day out finds their bodies change for the long haul. It's not a case of weight loss that you gain back. These are long-term, attainable changes and they work."
Lively demonstrated this with a thank you post to Saladino on Instagram, for kicking her 'A double S' into shape after pregnancy. Sharing a photo of the pair together in the gym, she wrote, "Turns out you can't lose the 61 lbs you gained during pregnancy by just scrolling through Instagram and wondering why you don't look like all the bikini models.
"Thanks @donsaladino for kickin my A double S into shape. 10 months to gain, 14 months to lose. Feeling very proud."

His methods may also differ slightly to others, as even when actors are training for a movie, he might only ask for an hour a day, three or four times a week if their schedule is super busy, "in order to optimise their time, allowing them the other days of rest and recovery" and more time for personal life factors.
He also takes a holistic approach, ready to adapt things should he need to. "It's your mindset, how you're willing to approach it and understanding you cannot come into this with 100% effort everyday. You can't always push that hard. It comes down to understanding your body and knowing some days you have to shift gears."

He also isn't a huge fan of setting weight targets for his clients. "They're just pulling this number out of the air and assuming that will result in health and wellness," said Saladino.
"I can’t even tell you how many people I’ve seen gain a pound or two who look like they’ve lost 15, and they’re in incredible shape. One of the worst ways you can quantify success is by the scale."

He also reveals that Lively's diet consists of "proteins, vegetables, fruits, slow-burning starches like sweet potato, and getting healthy fats like avocado, coconut oil, and grass-fed butter," with food quality being one of the rules he sticks to. However, he added, "Don't eat crap but, if you're going to eat crap, have better quality crap."
Saladino previously sharing one of Lively's workout routines with Harper's Bazaar Australia, a one hour, 3-4 times a week regime.
After warming up with yoga stretches and breathing techniques, she does three workout circuits, that include push-ups, broad jumps, farmer's carries, dumbbell work, squats, and rows.
It seems Lively is also an advocate for some balance in her lifestyle. She previously told Extra in 2014, that as someone who likes to cook, "I use a lot of fresh ingredients, which really does make a huge difference. It's easier to be healthy when eating things that are fresh, because they are often fruits and vegetables, but I also live a very active lifestyle."
But what she also revealed was, "I've said before I hate the gym, I eat chocolate, yes that part is true," adding "I find other ways to be active...I ride bicycles, I hike, I go out and exercise in nature and I'm active that way," presumably now also, after three children, committing to Saladino's programmes from time to time too.
