The Duchess of Cambridge has added another patronage to her ever-growing roster, releasing a new video to mark her new role with a “fantastic organisation” supporting the mental health of women.
Kate, 40, said no mother is “immune to experiencing anxiety and depression” in the video marking her new patronage with the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA).
The senior royal said it was crucial for those “struggling” to be given the “right support at the right time” in the video message for Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, which ends on Sunday.

“We all know that pregnancy, childbirth and the first months and years of a child’s life can be hugely demanding,” said the post beneath the video on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Instagram account.
“Over the last decade,” it continued, “charities and organisations have come together to transform attitudes, raise awareness and ensure that services are available to parents and babies at this important time in their lives.”
Much of this work has been led by the @mmhalliance, a fantastic organisation of which I am extremely proud to become patron today.”

The duchess opted for a floral midi dress by Italian fashion brand Max Mara. It featured long sleeves with lace detailing down the arms and across the chest, with a delicate dark blue floral design on a cream background.
The £630 frock featured a button-down opening at the front with a shirt-style collar, which is fast becoming one of the summer’s most sought-after styles.

A distant cousin of the looser shirt dresses of beach cover-ups and city-chic styles, this midi shirt dress trend is a more figure-hugging, elegant option.
