Today, for example, supermarket giant Waitrose has launched the EcoEgg, a refillable, earth-friendly laundry product.
It is the first UK supermarket to launch such a product, which can be used for up to 70 washes, last for over 10 years and costs just £9.99 - putting an end to weekly detergent spends and using single-use plastic detergent bottles.
The egg-shaped case is dermatologically tested and has been awarded the Allergy Friendly Product award by Allergy UK thanks to its non-biological mineral pellet based washing system, which contains no petrochemicals, enzymes, bleaches, phosphates, parabens, palm oil or microplastics.
