Last night saw the 90th Academy Awards take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Thousands of pictures documented the night, from the outfits to the awards, but it was Instagram where the best behind-the-scenes snaps were taken.
From the hair and makeup to the selfies and the after parties, these are the best glimpses into backstage life at the Oscars.

Lupita Nyong’o grinned backstage after presenting the Oscars award for production design at the 2018 Academy Awards.
The Black Panther star wore a gilded Atelier Versace gown and used her speech as a chance to speak out for dreamers – undocumented migrants who arrived in the USA as children.

Jane Fonda was one of many to honour the Oscars’ unofficial white dress code to back the Time’s Up movement.
She uploaded a photo of a sneak peak of her floor length Balmain dress to Instagram. She also wore a discreet Time’s Up pin on the front.

Coco stars Miguel, Natalia LaFourcade and Gael García Bernal performed “Remember Me” at the awards ceremony.
It took home the Oscar for Best Original Song, beating Mary J. Blige’s “Mighty River” (Mudbound), Sufjan Stevens’ “Mystery of Love” (Call Me By Your Name), “This Is Me” (The Greatest Showman), and Common and Diane Warren’s “Stand Up for Something” (Marshall).
