A beautiful image of a bride breastfeeding her baby on her wedding day is taking the Internet by storm.
As most new mums will understand when a newborn needs to be fed, they NEED to be fed. And if you happen to be in the middle of hair and beauty prep on the day of your wedding then so be it.
That’s exactly the situation Beth Johnson, 33, from Didsbury found herself shortly before her wedding to Chris Martin.
Thankfully, wedding photographer Jonny Draper was on hand to capture the touching moment Beth breastfed her baby son, George, as a make-up artist got the bride ready.
Sharing the stunning image to his Facebook page, Jonny expressed his happiness at being able to snap the candid shot.
“When you’re getting ready to get married, life with your beautiful children doesn’t stop,” he wrote alongside the image.
“Love this moment and thank you Beth for your permission to post this.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I love a smoke bomb, some cool lighting, but real moments like this are why I love being a wedding photographer.”
Since posting the sweet snapshot has received over 4K likes and been shared hundreds of times by fans touched by the moment.
“Very powerful and gorgeous! We need more of this,”one woman wrote.
“One of the most beautiful pics I’ve ever seen. Ur little baby looking up at u,” added another.
“What a truly wonderful moment to capture, the pure grace and elegance is stunning,” another fan commented.
Speaking to Manchester Evening News, photographer Jonny said he has been amazed by the response to the photo.
“It’s blown my mind how well it’s been received, how many shares and likes it’s had and how many people have taken the time to comment on it,”he told the publication.
“I’ve been shooting weddings for over 10 years and moments like this are what you are constantly looking for – and when you capture them and they are so well received, it just reminds you exactly why you do this job.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I love a dramatic bride and groom portrait, a hilarious moment in the speeches, or a super romantic first dance image, but this is the real gold for me – images that provoke emotion, that resonate with so many people and are timeless.”
Mum-of-two, Beth, also revealed how thrilled she was that the picture captured such a special mother/son moment.
“I feel extremely blessed that we got to share our wedding day with our two beautiful children,” she said.
“I asked Jonny to take a picture of me feeding George as time passes so quickly and I wanted a keepsake to remember this special time in our lives and that moment on the day.”
“He captured the moment perfectly and I will cherish this beautiful photo forever.”
