'GBBO' viewers shocked by contestant’s unusual avo hack: Can you peel an avocado?
Watch: 'Great British Bake Off' contestant shocks viewers with avocado peeling hack
Great British Bake Off fans have been left baffled after watching one of the contestant's unusual methods for prepping an avocado.
During Tuesday's episode, contestant Carole was seen peeling - yes, peeling - the skin off her avocado with a small knife.
For Mexican Week, the bakers were given the task of making tacos in the technical challenge, which included steak, refried beans, pico de gallo, and guacamole.
While making her guacamole, instead of slicing the avocado in half and scooping the flesh from the fruit, West Country-based Carole was seen peeling the skin off her avocado with a knife, just like you would a potato.

Bake Off viewers were left confused by the unorthodox method of de-skinning the avo and turned to Twitter to express their bewilderment and ask for answers.
"Going to be thinking about Carole peeling an avocado like a potato for possibly the rest of my life," one fan wrote.
"Was Carole PEELING an avocado?!" another asked.
"Oh Carole my goodness, I have never seen anyone *peel* an avocado," a further viewer added.

How to peel an avocado (Clue: its not like this)
While Carole's unique way of prepping her guac certainly raised some social media eyebrows, experts don't necessarily recommend it.
In fact chef and restaurateur, Arnaud Stevens, executive chef food director for Zafferanohas has concerns peeling an avocado like a potato could potentially be dangerous.
"Avocado skin produces natural oils which can cause them to become slippery and can risk you peeling your hand - or worse," he explains.

According to Stevens when prepping an avocado we should steer clear of the knives and peelers and instead use a very large serving spoon.
"Cut the avocado directly in half, take out the stone, use the natural curve of the spoon insert into the wider part of the avocado, allow the spoon to touch the skin and peel/scoop out the fruit part in one go," he says.
Et voila a perfectly prepped avo.
Stevens also shared a simple hack for keeping avocados fresh which involves wrapping them in a brown, paper bag.
"The natural gas reaction to the fruit preserves them longer," he explains.
Also avocados are one of the foods that should always be kept in the fridge.
