'Avocado art' is here to make you love the fruit even more

Just when we thought avocados couldn’t possibly get any better, some super artistic folks have found a way to make them even more magnificent.

Our favourite fruit is the latest subject of Instagram’s food carving trend, which sees people spend hours painstakingly carving intricate designs into fruit and veg using tiny scalpels.

Avocado art designs range from delicate flowers and swirls, to geometric patterns and designer logos (like the incredible Maison Goyard pattern carved into the avocado above).

Warning: if you try this at home you may be at higher risk of the dreaded ‘avocado hand‘.
