We love Ashley Graham. The plus-size model is flying the flag for diversity in the fashion industry and sprinkling a little dose of body positivity everywhere she goes. We love Amy Schumer too. Not only does she give us all the lols, she also sticks it to the body/slut/any shamers and shouts her feminist views from the rooftops. So we were a little concerned to hear that two of our fave girl crushes have had a clash of opinions about the whole ‘plus size’ label thing.
Here’s how it all unfolded. Earlier this year, Amy called out Glamour magazine on social media after her name was featured on the cover the magazine’s ‘Chic At Any Size’ special edition alongside Ashley, Melissa McCarthy, and Adele.
Taking to Instagram to voice her views about the topic Amy wrote: “I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8.”
She went on to explain that she felt it would be confusing for young girls to see her body type and think that she was plus size.

But Ashley Graham wasn’t best pleased about Amy’s reaction. In her cover interview for the August issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, Ashley described Amy’s reaction to being labelled plus size as a ‘double standard.’
“I can see both sides, but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry,” Ashley said. “You thrive on being a big girl, but when you’re grouped in with us, you’re not happy about it? That to me, felt like a double standard.”
Just a few hours after Ashley’s interview was published, Amy took to Twitter to let the model that there were no hard feelings about Ashley’s comments.
“I totally understand Ashley’s feelings.” Amy tweeted. “I don’t group myself in with her because she is unbelievably beautiful. Nothing but respect for her.”

And Ashley was quick to return the love.
“I have the greatest respect for @amyschumer! So glad to be able to exchange thoughts, ideas & opinions w/ another incredible female force,” she wrote on Twitter.
Before Amy fired back: “Rock on girl. I’m so grateful for you. You inspire me!”
