Anne Hathaway And Blake Lively Have Something To Say About Baby Weight Loss

The fact that ‘post-baby weight loss’ is a such well-known phrase says it all; society has an unhealthy obsession about losing post-partum weight.
Anne Hathaway certainly thinks so too, as a recent Instagram post of hers delivered a powerful message on the subject.
At first glance, the image is just of a pair of denim cut offs, until you read the caption.

It reads:
“There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever).
“There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all).
“There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer’s are just too dang short for this summer’s thighs.
“Bodies change.
“Bodies grow.
“Bodies shrink.
“It’s all love (don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.)
“Peace xx

Hathaway hits the nail on the head - bodies do grow and change, and must during the incredible thing that is pregnancy. So why punish them and ourselves?
Blake Lively is totally on the same wavelength too, as she recently hit out against the pressure for new mothers to lose weight ridiculously quickly on Aussie news outlet Sunrise.
She said:
“I think a woman’s body after having a baby is pretty amazing. You don’t have to have be Victoria’s Secret-ready right away.

"You’ve just done this incredible miracle that life has to offer.”
She points out that instead of focusing on how much weight a new mum has or hasn’t lost, how about we celebrate the incredible thing their body has achieved instead?
“You gave birth to a human being - I would really like to see that celebrated.”
