59-year-old Angela Bassett is giving us all the body goals with swimwear photo

Angela Bassett might be almost 60, but she isn’t about to stop sharing swimwear selfies anytime soon.

Taking to Instagram, the 59-year-old ‘Black Panther’ star shared an image of herself in a cut-away swimsuit that broke the boundaries of what the fashion police may describe as ‘age appropriate!’

“Hey Everybody you good? Cold & Rain makes me miss #paradise. @capmaison come rescue me!,” she captioned the shot.

Revealing her toned tum and glowing skin, Angela looked every inch a woman loving life in her prime.

And her hot shot is giving us some serious body envy.

Proving sexy has no age limit, the star’s stunning selfie is a step forward for body confidence, particularly for women in their prime.

But Angela certainly isn’t the only mature lady smashing swimwear stereotypes.

Back in March plus size model and body positive activist, Ashley Graham starred in an empowering campaign for Swimsuits for All alongside her 53-year-old mum.

“I haven’t worn a bikini since the ’80s!” Linda revealed in a release.

“I don’t think I could have uncovered that inner strength without Ashley. That makes being a part of this campaign so much more special — she’s my rock and inspired me at age 53 to be proud of my body again after I lost my own fortitude.”

Earlier this year Helen Mirren yet again proved that age is just a number by appearing topless in a stunning image for a new campaign shot.

The 72-year-old actress looked incredible in the image which was taken in support of Cancer Research UK’s long-running charity clothing collection in partnership with TK Maxx, which raises money for the treatment and cure of childhood cancers.

Meanwhile, last year Lonely Lingerie, a New Zealand based underwear company happily broke the model mould by featuring a model in her 50s as the star of their Autumn/Winter campaign.

Model, Mercy Brewer, 58, looked absolutely amazing posing in her smalls for the label’s autumn/winter 2017 campaign.

And if you’re looking for an absolute schooling in body confidence no matter your age, then it’s probably about time you followed Yazemeenah Rossi on Instagram.

The 62-year-old who is also a visual artist, self-portrait photographer and grandmother uses her platform to share beautiful yet tasteful naked pictures of herself in stunning locations with only a strategically placed scarf to hide her modesty.
