There's nothing more exciting in life than finding a piece of cookware that does more things than one.
Let's face it, we're busy people with fast-paced lives who can't afford to waste time washing up multiple pans and dishes come dinnertime.
Which means the second we lay eyes on something that cuts corners from a time perspective and actually delivers on quality, we can't help but want to give it a whirl. It's in our DNA.
So you can imagine how we responded when Our Place — American-born, aesthetic cookware brand — jumped over from across the pond, and began selling its TikTok famous, multitasking pan: the Always Pan.
This game changing eight-in-one piece of kitchenware went viral on social media when it first launched in the US back in 2019. And since, millions of people been eager to gets their hands on one.
Just as expected, it's been sold out on a number of occasions, consequently accruing waiting lists of over 60,000 eager shoppers at one time. Even the restocks have been known to sell out in under 20 minutes.
Oprah Winfrey has dubbed it a "kitchen magician", while Selena Gomez has even designed a collaboration with them.
Since then, Our Place has come out with the Always Pan 2.0, an upgraded version of the pan now serving not eight, but 10 different functions. But, for the sake of this review, I'm going to give you my honest opinion on the original pan, with the only difference being a function or two less.
The versatile Always Pan has over 32,000 reviews and scores an impressive 4.6 average rating from shoppers. Get it for less this Black Friday.
What's included with the Always Pan 2.0:
Always Pan 2.0 in original nonstick
Modular, steam-release lid
Nesting Beechwood Spatula
Steamer basket and colander
And to top things off, it's currently on sale for Black Friday. So should you make that all-important purchase, you'll get a smashing £45 off the pan's usual price.
💸 Reasons to buy
Unsurprisingly, the Always Pan is the most aesthetically pleasing item of cookware I own. Not just for its colourful hue, but for its minimalistic and modern design, too. Essentially, it looks great in my kitchen.
As for functions, it can braise, sear, steam, strain, sauté, fry, boil and bake your food. I particularly love the steaming function — it works a treat for perfectly cooked vegetables.
I also love that it has two easy-pour spouts on either side of the pan, so I'm not restricted to using just the one side. A good, versatile feature that works for both right-handed and left-handed users.
Its dome-shaped, modular lid is great for locking in steam when you need it or releasing it when you don’t. And the fact it's coated in a completely non-toxic ceramic, which is made without any chemical PFAs, lead and other toxic metals, means I've been able to cook safely in the knowledge that my saucepan is not releasing any nasties into my food (always a bonus).
Another great characteristic of this pan is that it heats up very quickly. I don't find myself waiting around for it to reach the right temperature, which means I can get on with my cooking nice and swiftly.
Other shoppers feel the same way, hailing it as "fantastic pan" and saying that it's "a pan every kitchen should have".
✋ Reasons to avoid:
There's no denying that this is a moderately expensive piece of kit. Usually costing £130, it's definitely an investment and not the sort of purchase you would buy on the whim.
The only thing that could bother some people is that it can be quite awkward to store. I tend to store all my saucepan lids in my adjustable lid organiser, but due to the Always Pan's dome-shaped lid, it doesn't sit as neatly as it should and feeds into the space reserved for my other saucepan lids. A niche, but fair, bugbear of mine.
💰 Best deal we've found:
Currently, Our Place's Always Pan is on sale for Black Friday — right now it's down from £130 to £85, saving a generous £45. This is the lowest price we've ever seen the 10-in-1 pan, so it's definitely a worthy deal worth snapping up.
