Shakira and Jennifer Lopez glitter in designer Super Bowl costumes
JLo and Shakira’s onstage ensembles were as on point as their performances at the Super Bowl halftime show last night.
First up was Shakira who took the stage belting out her hit ‘Shewolf’ in a custom-beaded and fringed, fiery red Peter Dundas two-piece.
The 43-year-old singer’s outfit was finished with a pair of bespoke, wedge boots adorned with 30,000 crystals. The boots, made by artist Daniel Jacob, also known as Dan Life, are estimated to cost around $20,000.
So special were the boots that their creator took to Instagram to explain they took a painstaking 10 days to create.

Then it was Jennifer Lopez turn to command the sartorial spotlight. The superstar singer donned a biker-esque, leather Versace outfit with a satin pink skirt layered on top which she ripped off to perform her cult hits like ‘Jenny From the Block’ and ‘Get it right’.
The 50-year-old singer then upped the glam factor by stripping down to a sheer and chrome detailed one-piece also by Versace, before adding a Puerto Rican/American flag come feather boa to celebrate her heritage.
The custom Versace piece was reportedly created with 40,000 red, blue and white feathers all individually sewn in.
For their fashion finale, the talented pair opted for dazzling gold and silver ensembles to close the show.
Shakira opted for a gold, sparkling Deco embellished bustier top, with with a bead fringed mini skirt, also by Peter Dundas, which she teamed with gold Adidas high tops.
J Lo also upped the sparkle for the show closure after slipping a ritzy, fringed leotard over her nude and silver one-piece.
Speaking about the costume designs Peter Dundas said the looks were inspired by Shakira herself and her music.
“Dundas World is about making you feel your absolute best because you look your best,” the designer said in a press release.
“Onstage Shak is like a musical force field; an amazon warrior goddess. I wanted to show her strength, her raw sexuality, her physical almost athletic dance performance and synchronize it with our brand codes like the cropped bustier, the embellishments and the fringes tailored to Shakira and her show.”
While the audience were wowed by their booty shaking performances, the duo ensured the fashion will also be remembered for all the right reasons.
