Alex Jones admits ‘mum guilt is very real’ in candid post about motherhood

Welsh TV presenter Alex Jones, who co-hosts the BBC One flagship show The One Show, has admitted to feeling "mum guilt" in a candid post. Posting to Instagram Alex told her fans how she took her eldest son Teddy to work with her.

Alex has hosted The One Show since 2010, during which she has had three children, Teddy, Kit and Annie. She often posts about juggling family life with working and in a moving Instagram post she says the "mum guilt is very real".

She said: "Took Ted to work yesterday. He's been asking for ages to come and I think it's important that he can imagine where I am at night because I'm not there to do bedtime very often. The mum guilt is very real but yesterday was special."

In the video posted to Instagram Alex can be seen showing Ted The One Show set, the newsroom and her getting her make-up done before the show. Many fans and Alex's friends commented on the post. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

Fellow TV presenter Susanna Reid said: "This is so lovely" followed by a clapping emoji. Rosie Ramsey commented: "Gorgeous xx" while Dr Punam Krishan, who is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, Helen Skeleton and Stacey Dooley all commented red love heart emojis on the post.

Recently Alex, her husband Charlie Thomson and their children have moved house and Alex has opened up about the "scary" move. Posting on Instagram, she said: "New home, new chapter and we LOVE it. It was scary leaving the place that we’d been so happy for so many years but the outdoor life is definitely a hit, especially with the children... The move was smooth actually. I love the house move. I'm a bit weird like that and I really enjoyed it."
