Aldi is selling beers meant for pubs for 99p
Budget supermarket chain Aldi is selling rescued beer that was meant for pubs for just 99p.
While pubs are closed during lockdown, Aldi has partnered with 13 British breweries to make sure that no stock is wasted during this time.

The supermarket is now selling big-name beer brands like Spitfire Gold for just 99p for 500ml - a saving of almost 75p compared with other supermarkets.
Breweries would usually sell this stock straight to pubs, but due to lockdown restrictions they haven’t been able to do so.
Snake Oil from West Berkshire Brewery and Old Hooky from Hook Norton Brewery will retail for the slightly more expensive £1.49, while Tangle Foot and Warsteiner will cost £3.99 for a four-pack or £8.99 for a pack of 12.
Others priced at £1.49 include: Wild Gravity from Bad Co, Shelby from Thornbridge, Brewgooder Moyo Juice from Brewgooder, Dartmoor Jail Ale from Dartmoor Brewery, Pistonhead Haze Lager from Brutal Brewing, Puffin Tears from Harbour Brewery, Business as Usual from Derby Brewery and St Peters Best Bitter from St Peters.

“Lots of our favourite local breweries have been hugely affected by the pandemic,” Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said in a statement.
“As part of our commitment to supporting British suppliers, we’ve found a way to stock great quality and award-winning beers.”

The beer is in Aldi stores from today, 28 January, but because they are part of the supermarket’s ‘Specialbuys’ range, they won’t be restocked once they have sold out.
